The Grainger family has been associated with tube and fittings for over 150 years. Stephen Grainger (born 1841) was employed at Lloyd & Lloyd's Bilston Ironworks in 1856 to hand forge fittings from wrought iron, before setting up his own independent company in 1864. His son, Isaac Grainger, then founded his own company of fitting makers in North Worcestershire, which his own son W. Arthur Grainger joined in the early 1900's.

From 1931, Isaac H Grainger & Son diversified into the manufacture of steel tubulars, but continued to hand forge wrought iron fittings in large quantities until around 1955, when the supply of British-made wrought iron ceased. Arthur's son, David Grainger, who had entered the company in 1952, set up a manufacturing branch in Pembroke Dock in 1971. Isaac H Grainger & Son Limited continues as a successful pipe fitting company in the West Midlands to this day.

The fully independent family partnership of Grainger Tubolt was established in 1976 as a merchant of pipe, fittings, flanges and bolts (hence the name “Tubolt”). In 1981, the firm was incorporated as a limited company and soon expanded its range to include tube clamps and valves.

David's daughter, Elizabeth Grainger, first joined the company in 1984. In 1992, she was appointed as Managing Director, thus completing five generations of continuous family experience in pipe fittings. As illustrated elsewhere in this website and linked company sites, the product portfolio now also includes an extensive range of engineering supplies, tools, PPE, welding machines and consumables.

Over the last 25 years, the company has grown out of all recognition from its original UK based roots. With the launch of its own Interclamp® brand of key clamp products in 2002, Grainger Tubolt Limited became a worldwide provider of tube clamping solutions, exporting directly and via its extensive network of approved distributors.

With companies offering substantial stockholding in both Australia and Great Britain, the Interclamp Group offers a leading global brand of choice for premium tubular clamp components.

We offer unbeatable experience in pipe fittings, so you can source your clamp products with utmost confidence.
