A guide to selecting your Interclamp Handrail Tube.

Interclamp key clamp handrail tube is commonly used alongside the Interclamp fitting range to construct sturdy handrails, guardrails and other structures without the need for welding. The handrail tube is designed to be durable and resistant to corrosion, making them suitable for outdoor and industrial applications where strength and longevity are essential. Our wide range of sizes can make it difficult when selecting the correct size of handrail tube. We have created a very simple guide by answering some of your top questions. 

WHAT KEY CLAMP HANDRAIL TUBE SIZES DO YOU OFFER?

We offer a large selection of different diameter handrail tubes at a standard thickness to meet our customers specific requirements. For heavy duty uses we do also keep a stock of thicker structural tube. Our standard stock sizes are as follows:

• 26.9mm OD / ¾" NB
• 33.7mm OD / 1" NB
• 42.4mm OD / 1 ¼" NB
• 48.3mm OD / 1 ½" NB
• 60.3mm OD / 2" NB

WHAT LENGTHS DOES YOUR HANDRAIL TUBE COME IN?

Our standard and most common key clamp handrail tube lengths are 3m, 6m and 6.4m lengths. We also stock a number of different handrail tube post lengths in 42.4mm OD and 48.3mm OD

DO YOU OFFER STOCK POWDER COATED LENGTHS OF HANDRAIL TUBE?

Yes, whilst our standard handrail tubes comes in a galvanised steel finish. We do however keep a number of 3m handrail tubes in stock powder coated colours (Size Dependant). Our main stock colours are as follows:

• RAL 1023 - Traffic Yellow
• RAL 3020 - Traffic Red
• RAL 5017 - Traffic Blue 
• RAL 9005 - Jet Black
• RAL 9016 - Traffic White

Need a more bespoke colour and finish? We offer a full powder coating service to meet your specific requirements.

CAN THE HANDRAIL TUBE BE CUT TO SIZE?

Yes of course. We understand that not everyone has the facilities to cut steel handrail tube, especially when large quantities of cuts are required. That's why we offer an in house cutting service, which enables us to cut handrail tube down to your desired lengths. 

If you aren't quite sure on what lengths you require until your on site installing. All of our handrail tube can be cut on-site using an angle grinder and cutting disc. 

WHAT SIZE TUBE CLAMP FITTINGS SHOULD I USE WITH MY TUBE?

Each diameter handrail tube is designed to suit a certain key clamp fitting size. Below is a simple guide for each size: 

• 26.9mm OD = Interclamp A27
• 33.7mm OD = Interclamp B34
• 42.4mm OD = Interclamp C42
• 48.3mm OD = Interclamp D48
• 60.3mm OD = Interclamp E60
